UW LEND Leadership and Research Symposium Coming June 1
The University of Washington Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (UW LEND) program will host its annual Leadership and Research Symposium on Monday, June 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Haring Center. This full-day event highlights the leadership projects developed by the 2025–2026 trainee cohort.
UW LEND is an interdisciplinary leadership training program based at the Institute on Human Development and Disability. The 2025–2026 cohort brings together trainees from a wide range of disciplines, along with family leaders and self-advocates, reflecting a shared commitment to equity, collaboration, and neurodiversity-affirming practice.
Projects from the 2025–2026 cohort span areas such as clinical care, disability advocacy, health equity, systems change, and community-based research. Throughout the day, trainees will share insights from their interdisciplinary training and project work, offering a look at emerging ideas and approaches in the field of developmental disabilities.
The symposium provides an opportunity to learn from the next generation of leaders in healthcare, education, public policy, and disability services, and to recognize the contributions of trainees working to improve systems of care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
