Student Spotlight: ABA Training at UW

Ashley Ya-Hsuan Huang, a student in the University of Washington’s Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program, is gaining hands-on experience supporting children and families through her practicum at the Haring Center.

Ashley Ya-Hsuan HuangOriginally from Taiwan, Ashley first became interested in ABA during college while working as a tutor. After meeting a BCBA and later working as a behavior technician for nearly two years, she decided to pursue graduate training at UW.
Through coursework, research opportunities, and fieldwork, Ashley is building practical skills and a deeper understanding of behavior analysis in real-world settings.

She describes a strong sense of community in the program, with classmates and faculty who are supportive, accessible, and committed to student growth.

This training helps prepare the next generation of practitioners to support children with developmental disabilities and their families across diverse settings.
