CREATE Community Day 2026 to Highlight Accessibility, AI, and Inclusive Mobility
The University of Washington’s Center for Research and Education on Accessible Technology and Experiences (CREATE) will host its annual Community Day on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, bringing together researchers, advocates, students, and community members for an afternoon of conversation, learning, and connection.
This year’s event focuses on timely and important topics at the intersection of disability, technology, and society. Through panel discussions and a research showcase, participants will explore how emerging technologies like artificial intelligence are shaping the experiences of people with disabilities, as well as ongoing challenges and innovations in transportation and urban mobility.
The program includes two featured panel discussions: one examining AI through a disability lens, and another focused on transportation and urban mobility. Speakers represent a range of perspectives from academia, policy, and community-based organizations, grounding the conversation in both research and lived experience.
The event will conclude with a research showcase highlighting accessible technology projects and collaborative work across disciplines.
CREATE Community Day will take place from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Zillow Events Center in the Bill & Melinda Gates Center on the University of Washington’s Seattle campus. Virtual attendance is available for the panel discussions.
This free event is open to the public. Registration is requested by Thursday, May 21, 2026.
CREATE is committed to hosting an inclusive and accessible event. Individuals who would like to request accommodations are encouraged to reach out in advance.
