Wings for All® returns May 2 in Seattle
Wings for All® returns to Seattle on May 2, offering a structured, supportive opportunity for individuals with disabilities and their families to practice the full airport experience.
For many people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, air travel can feel overwhelming due to sensory input, unfamiliar environments, and complex procedures. Programs like Wings for All® help address these challenges by giving participants the chance to experience the process in a calm, guided setting before an actual trip.
Hosted by The Arc of King County in partnership with United Airlines, the Port of Seattle, and the Transportation Security Administration, this event takes place at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and walks participants through each step of air travel, including check-in, security screening, boarding, and a simulated flight experience on the runway.
This first-time flyer event is designed for two participants per family: an individual with a disability and one accompanying guest.
Registration opens April 8 at 8:30 a.m. for both participants and volunteers. Space is limited, and confirmed registration is required to attend.
