ITHS Pilot Funding for Early-Career Investigators

The Institute of Translational Health Sciences (ITHS) is accepting applications for two pilot funding opportunities for early-career investigators: Catalyst Awards and Early Investigator Voucher Awards.

Three students problem solving using a whiteboard.Catalyst Awards provide up to $5,000 in just-in-time funds to support supplies or core services needed to complete a project or collect pilot data for a larger grant application. Early Investigator Voucher Awards provide in-kind service vouchers for translational research support, including services such as biostatistics, bioethics, research coordination, biomedical informatics, regulatory support, and clinical support.

Applications are dueJuly 7, 2026.

Eligible early-career investigators generally include junior faculty members, postdoctoral scholars, or scientists within 10 years of completing their terminal degree or clinical training who have not yet secured substantial independent NIH funding.
