Project ECHO for Educators Focuses on Challenging Behavior Supports

The Haring Center for Inclusive Education is offering a 10-session remote professional development series focused on the basics of challenging behavior and strategies to support student success.

A parent comforting their child.Project ECHO for Educators: The Basics of Challenging Behavior will cover strategies to prevent and respond to challenging behaviors, function-based intervention, and progress monitoring strategies. The ECHO model combines brief workshops with case-based learning opportunities supported by a multidisciplinary team of experts.

Series details:

  • Thursdays from 4–5 p.m. (PT)
  • October 1–December 10, 2026
  • Virtual via Zoom
  • 10 PESB Clock Hours and/or 10 BCBA Learning CEUs available
  • Cost: $500 per participant

Audience:

  • General education teachers
  • Special education teachers
  • Specialists including music, art, PE, and related fields

Dr. Katy Bateman, PhD, BCBA-D, will lead the series. Her work focuses on Applied Behavior Analysis, inclusionary practices in early childhood special education, and Positive Behavior Supports. She currently leads state-funded projects that expand access to high-quality ABA services for children with autism and other developmental and intellectual disabilities.
