IHDD Networking Day Brings Together Research and Community
Faculty, staff, trainees, students, researchers, and community partners gathered for IHDD Networking Day to share current work, strengthen connections across programs, and explore opportunities for collaboration.
The event featured presentations from Washington State Representatives Jamila Taylor and Darya Farivar, who shared perspectives on disability-related issues, advocacy, and community partnerships supporting individuals with disabilities and their families across Washington state.
Representatives from Washington’s Developmental Disabilities Network partners, including the Washington State Developmental Disabilities Council, Disability Rights Washington, and Allies in Advocacy, also shared updates on advocacy initiatives, systems change efforts, and opportunities for community engagement.
Lightning talks and poster presentations highlighted a wide range of research and projects taking place across IHDD and partner programs. Topics included accessible technology, autism and Down syndrome research, neonatal brain injury, AI-supported personalized storybooks, accessible research participation, and efforts to improve supports across the lifespan while creating opportunities for attendees to discuss research, exchange ideas, and connect across disciplines and programs.
The event brought together researchers, clinicians, trainees, self-advocates, and community organizations to strengthen connections and explore future collaboration.
