Improving Access to Autism Care in Washington

Pooja Manjunath, a Master of Public Health (Health Systems and Policy) student at the University of Washington School of Public Health, completed a practicum with the UW Autism Center focused on improving access to autism care across Washington state.
Motivated by an interest in health equity and access, she examined disparities in autism diagnosis and services and identified resource gaps, especially for rural families who often face longer wait times and travel distances to access care.
As part of this work, she conducted a gap analysis of the AS360 resource platform. AS360 is a statewide online resource designed to help families find autism-related services, providers, and supports in their communities. Her recommendations are helping inform improvements to make the platform more useful and easier to navigate for families across Washington.
