AUCD Leadership Academy 2026 Accepting Applications

The Association of University Centers on Disabilities is now accepting applications for the 2026 AUCD Leadership Academy.

The AUCD Leadership Academy is a one-year program designed for current and emerging leaders across the disability community. The Academy supports participants in strengthening leadership skills and building coalitions to improve systems of supports and services at the local, state, and national levels.

The 2026 AUCD Leadership Academy will take place Sunday, June 7 through Friday, June 12, 2026 in Atlanta, Georgia. Daily sessions will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, with multiple breaks throughout the day. An optional guided mindfulness practice will be offered each morning at 9:30 a.m.

The Academy seeks participants from:

  • University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs)
  • Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) programs
  • Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Centers (IDDRCs)
  • Community partner organizations

Past participants have included self-advocacy coordinators, trainees, and faculty from UCEDD and LEND programs, program coordinators, research assistants, directors and associate directors, occupational therapists, parent educators, psychologists, and other disability leaders. Individuals with disabilities, including intellectual and developmental disabilities, are strongly encouraged to apply.

If selected, the cost to attend the AUCD Leadership Academy is $1,250.
