2026 CREATE Accessibility Hackathon
The UW Center for Research and Education on Accessible Technology and Experiences, CREATE, invites community members, students, researchers, accessibility advocates, people with lived experience of disability, and technology partners to participate in the 2026 CREATE Accessibility Hackathon on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1, 2026.
This free event will take place at the Bill & Melinda Gates Center on the UW Seattle campus, with virtual options available for some sessions.
The hackathon is open to everyone, not just developers. Participants may contribute by brainstorming accessibility ideas, joining or leading a project team, coding or “vibe-coding,” participating in workshops, mentoring others, or sharing lived experience and subject matter expertise.
People with lived experience of disability are especially encouraged to join. Their perspectives are essential to building more accessible tools, technologies, and communities.
- Event dates: July 31–August 1, 2026
- Location: Bill & Melinda Gates Center, 3800 E Stevens Way NE, Seattle, WA 98195
