UW Autism Center Offers Fall 2026 Trainings
The University of Washington Autism Center (UWAC) is offering several training opportunities this fall for clinicians, educators, researchers, and other professionals who support autistic individuals and their families.
Practical Functional Assessment & Skill-Based Treatment Training
- Dates: September 17-18, 2026
- Time: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
- Location: UW Husky Union Building
The University of Washington Autism Center and FTF Consulting are offering a two-day training on Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill-Based Treatment (SBT), compassionate, evidence-based approaches for understanding and addressing severe challenging behavior.
Participants will learn strategies that prioritize safety, dignity, and respect while building trusting relationships, teaching communication and coping skills, and supporting students through unexpected changes and disappointments. The training is designed for educators, clinicians, and support professionals seeking practical tools to better support autistic students and others with significant behavioral needs.

ADOS-2 Introductory Workshop
- Date: October 12-13, 2026
- Time: 9:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Location: UW Seattle Campus
This two-day introductory workshop provides training in the administration and scoring of ADOS-2 Modules 1–4 and serves as a prerequisite for advanced ADOS-2 workshops. Participants will receive live demonstrations, in-depth coding instruction, and materials to support continued practice.
The workshop is intended for professionals working in autism-related fields, including psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physicians, and mental health professionals.
ADOS-2 Toddler Module Workshop
- Date: October 14, 2026
- Time: 9:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Location: UW Seattle Campus
This workshop focuses on administration, scoring, and coding of the ADOS-2 Toddler Module through lecture, demonstration, and group discussion. It is designed for clinicians and researchers who have previously completed ADOS or ADOS-2 training and are seeking additional preparation for working with toddlers.
