UW Family Centered Care Panel Recruitment 2026
The UW Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy graduate programs are recruiting four family members of children with disabilities to participate in the 2026 Family Centered Care Panel. The panel will take place on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 1:20 to 2:20 pm on Zoom.
The PT and OT programs are continually updating the panel format and objectives based on feedback from students and past participants. A key goal is to rotate panelists each year so that more families have opportunities to participate and so that students learn from a broad range of perspectives.
The programs strive for representation across many aspects of diversity, including but not limited to diagnosis, child age, race, ethnicity, cultural background, family structure, caregiver role, gender, primary language, child ability, and access to healthcare. Because of this rotation, participation cannot be guaranteed each year, but more families will be able to share their experiences over time.
Families selected for the 2026 panel will receive the questions in advance and may share background information and photos at their comfort level. Panel questions will focus on topics such as the meaning of family centered care and recommendations for future PT and OT providers.
An honorarium will be provided. Background information collected for panel preparation will not be shared outside the teaching team.
To be considered for this year’s panel, please complete the form by December 15, 2025. The form includes questions about availability, your child’s therapy history, your family’s background, and any accommodations you may need. You may also indicate interest in future opportunities to partner with PT and OT students.
If you’d like to participate, please complete the Family Centered Care Panel Recruitment form.
