NCD Seeks Input on Disability Training

Photo: Clinician performing an exam on a patient with Down Syndrome. The National Council on Disability has released a request for information focused on disability clinical care and competency training for medical professionals. The RFI invites input on the current status of disability-related training across the United States and asks respondents to consider several key topics.

These topics include challenges medical schools face when incorporating disability clinical care curricula, the connection between clinical confidence and provider behavior, transferable skills that support effective care across patient populations, and examples of existing curriculum resources that could guide future standards.

Responses will help inform an upcoming policy brief and will remain confidential. Submissions are due by January 6 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern and should be emailed to NCD Senior Attorney Advisor Amged Soliman at asoliman@ncd.gov.
