IDEA Anniversary and Inclusion Resources
This year marks 50 years since the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act was signed on November 29, 1975. The IDEA opened public schools to children who had been excluded because they were disabled. Washington state helped shape the law, and disability advocates continue to strengthen inclusion in schools and communities.
The Arc of King County is sharing a collection of free resources for educators and families, supported by OSPI’s Inclusionary Practices Technical Network.
