DCYF is the primary agency for state-funded services that support children and families by fostering resilience, improving health, and enhancing education. We collaborate with state and local agencies, tribes, and community organizations across Washington to assist families at their most vulnerable, providing essential resources for success.

Brain science shows that a strong early foundation is crucial for healthy development and that addressing trauma during key transitions supports a successful path to adulthood. DCYF was created as a comprehensive agency dedicated to the social, emotional, and physical well-being of children, youth, and families. By prioritizing early learning, prevention, and timely intervention, we support development from birth through adolescence.
