Making Room to Learn: Inclusive Education at the Haring Center

At the Haring Center, children, families, educators, and researchers learn from one another to build more inclusive classrooms. That work reaches beyond the University of Washington through educator training, research partnerships, and practical support for schools and families across the state.
A new UW College of Education feature, “Making Room to Learn,” follows five alumni whose experiences at the Experimental Education Unit (EEU) continue to shape their work. Today, they teach students, coach educators, partner with families, and help schools strengthen inclusive practices.
Their stories show what meaningful inclusion takes: collaboration, trained educators, and the resources to help every student participate and belong.
