Free Haring Center Trainings for Early Learning Providers – Fall 2026

The UW Haring Center, in partnership with the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF), is offering free professional development opportunities this fall to support the inclusion of young children with diverse learning and behavioral needs. In-service (STARS) hours are available.

DCYF Complex Needs Online Training Series

Designed for early learning providers serving children from birth through age five, these trainings cover individualizing instruction, social-emotional learning, understanding and supporting challenging behaviors, and supporting all learners throughout the day.

Trainings will be held live via Zoom in English, Spanish, and Somali. See the training flyer for individual topics, dates, and times. All times are Pacific Time.

Early Achievers Inclusion Internship for Coaches and Supervisors

This one-day, in-person internship at the Haring Center offers strategies for individualizing instruction and including children with different learning and behavioral needs in early learning and care settings. Participants will also observe inclusive practices in the Haring Center’s preschool classrooms.

Sessions are offered on the following dates:

  • English: Monday, October 19, 2026, 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
  • Spanish: Friday, October 30, or Friday, November 13, 2026, 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
