ANeW Project Video Shares Approach to Crisis Care
A new video shares the work of the Adult Neurodevelopmental Wellness (ANeW) project, led by Dr. Gary Stobbe at UW IHDD and UW Medicine.
The ANeW project focuses on adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who are experiencing crisis, with the goal of helping individuals remain in or return to their communities. Funded by Washington State Senate Bill 5440, the project includes both a retrospective review of system-level factors and a pilot program providing person-centered crisis consultation.
Through an interdisciplinary approach, ANeW works with individuals, families, and care teams to develop and implement stabilization plans, with an emphasis on long-term support and community integration.
