Halloween AAC Cards From the UW Autism Center
Kelleen Dunley, Lead Speech-Language Pathologist at the UW Autism Center, created special Halloween-themed AAC cards to help children who have difficulty communicating verbally join in the fun of trick-or-treating.
The printable cards feature simple introductions and familiar phrases like “Trick or Treat!” and “Thank you!” to make it easier for kids to express themselves confidently during Halloween activities.
AAC, or Augmentative and Alternative Communication, includes tools and methods that support or replace speech to help everyone share their voice in meaningful ways. These Halloween cards are one example of how inclusive communication can open doors for connection and joy in everyday experiences.
