The UW Employment Program (UWEP) aims to establish mutually beneficial relationships between individuals with disabilities and businesses. They achieve this through three goals: developing employment programs, conducting outreach and marketing, and providing direct services to clients with various disabilities. UWEP serves adolescents and adults with developmental, physical, and cognitive disabilities, offering job development, placement, training, and ongoing support. The program also provides community-based services such as functional assessments, job matching, on-the-job training, and long-term follow-up.
UWEP serves individuals between the ages of 18 and 65 who have a disability with matching them with unique employment opportunities. They work as a service provider for the Washington State Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and the King County Developmental Disabilities and Early Childhood Supports Division. In case of high demand, there may be a waiting list, and estimated timelines for services will be communicated.
