The UW IDDRC is one of 15 IDDRC’s nationally with the overarching goal of advancing our understanding of intellectual and developmental disabilities, funded through the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD).

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is open to any University of Washington faculty engaged in funded research of relevance to intellectual and developmental disabilities. The project must be extramurally funded and peer reviewed, in addition to being relevant to the IDDRC mission and the project should also have a need for one or more of the IDDRC core services. Please note the extramural funding cannot be from a for-profit entity. Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators are eligible.

Graduate students and post-doctoral scholars are encouraged to apply for a Scholar Membership and can then access IDDRC resources through primary IDDRC investigators/mentors.

 

Obligations of an IDDRC Member

  • Conduct research in accordance with IDDRC mission statement
  • Utilize proper IDDRC NIH citation (NIH/NICHD P50 HD103524) for publications utilizing Core Services. Acknowledgement should include: “This research was supported by the UW Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC), P50 HD103524).
  • Contribute to scientific dialogue through IDDRC lectures, symposia, communications, and seminars
  • Report progress regularly on research activities, grants, and publications relating to IDDRC-supported projects
