SAVE THE DATE: Haring Center Auction Returns May 9
Join us on Saturday, May 9, 2026, for the 25th Annual Haring Center Auction, Step Right Up for Inclusion, hosted at the University of Washington Haring Center for Inclusive Education.
Doors open at 5:00 PM for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, wine and spirits tasting, and auctions. Dinner and the live auction begin at 7:30 pm as we gather in support of inclusive education.
At the heart of this event is the Experimental Education Unit, or EEU, the Haring Center’s inclusive birth through kindergarten school. The EEU serves children with and without disabilities in classrooms designed around belonging, individualized support, and high expectations for every learner.
Teachers, therapists, and researchers work side by side, ensuring that children receive thoughtful, evidence-based instruction while building friendships across differences. Classrooms are intentionally inclusive, with specialized supports embedded into daily routines rather than separated from them.
The EEU is also a demonstration and training site. Educators from across Washington and beyond visit to learn practical, research driven strategies they can bring back to their own schools. In this way, the impact of the EEU extends far beyond its classrooms.
The annual auction is the largest fundraiser supporting the EEU. Funds raised help cover the gap between public contracts and the true cost of operating high quality inclusive classrooms and paying teacher salaries. The auction also supports research and professional training that advances inclusive practices locally and nationwide.
Guests will enjoy festive food and drinks, spirited bidding, and a special tribute to the 2026 Champion for Inclusion. The evening menu includes gluten free and vegan options, with entrée choices of Chicken a la Monaco, Cedar Wrapped Salmon, or Vegan Jambalaya.
Early bird pricing closes March 31, 2026. Registration closes April 24, 2026. This is a 21 and over event.
