Down Syndrome-Connect Research Study Roundup
DS-Connect.org features a ‘Now Recruiting‘ section that lists a range of research studies currently enrolling individuals with Down syndrome, across a wide variety of ages. These studies cover many different areas of health and development, including early motor and language development, executive functioning and behavior, sleep and breathing disorders, and regression disorder. Some studies are fully virtual, while others take place at specific research sites across the U.S.
In addition to biological and clinical research, there are studies focusing on practical outcomes and daily life: for instance, improving memory using a smartphone app, promoting self-advocacy in medical decisions, measuring challenging behaviors via caregiver surveys, and identifying skills that predict independence and employment readiness. These projects aim not only to advance scientific understanding but also to directly improve quality of life, interventions, and supports for people with Down syndrome.
