Research Study for Parents of Teens Who Use AAC

Instructor showing an adult how to use an AAC device.The Language, Assistive Technology, and Autism (LATA) Lab at The Ohio State University is recruiting parents and legal guardians of transition-age AAC users (ages 14–22). The study focuses on family experiences during the transition from school to adult life. This study is approved by the OSU Institutional Review Board (STUDY#20250507).

Who is eligible:

  • Parents or legal guardians of AAC users ages 14–22
  • Located in the United States

What participation includes:

  • Completing a 15–30 minute online survey
  • Uploading a photo of your child’s AAC device
  • Uploading the AAC user’s most recent IEP and Evaluation Team Report (if available)

How to participate:
Fill out the interest form so the research team can send the appropriate consent/assent materials.
