Improving Inclusion in Transportation Data Systems

Photo: A man in a wheelchair waiting for a train - using mass transit.Researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago are conducting a national study to better understand how transportation data systems measure disability. The goal is to identify gaps that make it harder for people with disabilities to be fully included in transportation planning and decision-making.

Adults (18+) who identify as a person with a disability, live in the United States, use public transportation, and can speak and understand English may be eligible. Participants will complete a short online screener, followed by a brief survey about their travel experiences and opinions.

The findings will be used to develop a guidebook to help transit professionals understand barriers faced by riders with disabilities. Those who complete the study will be entered into a drawing for a $20 Target gift card (1 in 10 chance to win).

To check eligibility, complete the screener.
