Research Opportunity: Educational Research Grants from the Trisomy 13 and 18 Collaborative

The Trisomy 13 and 18 Collaborative, a philanthropic initiative of the New Venture Fund, has announced a new Request for Proposals (RFP) for educational research grants. These grants aim to strengthen educational resources for both clinicians and families caring for children with trisomy 13 or 18.

Eligibility: Research teams affiliated with universities, academic medical centers, or research institutions in the U.S. or Canada.

Projects may focus on one or both of the following areas:

  • Clinician Project: Evaluate existing educational resources for clinicians—including medical and graduate students and other trainees—and assess needs and barriers in clinical education.
  • Family Project: Identify and evaluate educational resources for families of children with trisomy 13 or 18 and assess their informational needs and access barriers.

Funding: Grants range from $100,000 to $250,000. The anticipated project timeline is September 15, 2025, to August 30, 2026.
