ARC of Washington State Trust Fund Announces Student Stipend Applications for 2025 Student Stipend Award of $5000
The Arc of Washington Trust Fund is a non-profit organization whose mission is “To support research identifying issues affecting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to support programs enriching their lives, and to support the education and training of community members working with the I/DD population.”
In furtherance of that mission, the Trust Fund invests in the excellence of upper division undergraduate and graduate students attending educational institutions within the state of Washington on a full-time basis who demonstrate a history of a strong commitment in the field of intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Only such students are eligible to apply. Each student stipend award is $5,000.
The stipends are awarded in an initial installment in summer 2025 which will be sent to the university and the balance in January 2026 upon confirmation of your full-time enrollment in fall AND winter academic terms.
For students who are awarded a student stipend, funds will be released to the university for distribution to the student for payment of student tuition, books and general living expenses after the schools provide evidence that the students continue to be enrolled (for the summer installment, enrollment is required for the fall). The Trust Fund hopes that this will allow colleges and universities to attract and retain students interested in working in the field of I/DD as researchers, teachers or practitioners.
Each applicant should have a particular career interest in work relating to intellectual and/or other developmental disabilities.
