The IDD Toolkit is a comprehensive resource designed to help primary care providers deliver high-quality care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). It offers practical tools and evidence-based guidance to address medical, mental, and behavioral health concerns, along with resources to support patients and their families.

The toolkit includes resources for improving communication, supporting informed consent, and promoting patient capabilities. It also provides Health Watch Tables tailored to conditions like Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Fragile X syndrome, offering preventive care and screening recommendations. Also, providers can access tools for managing behavioral crises, identifying mental distress, and implementing intervention plans.

By utilizing the IDD Toolkit, providers can improve care for adults with IDD and create a more inclusive health care experience.
