Due January 31: Applications for EHDI PEC Emerging Leaders Program

Photo of a doctor performing a hearing test on a smiling infant.Are you ready to expand your leadership skills and contribute to meaningful systems change within the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) system? The EHDI Provider Education Center (EHDI PEC) is excited to announce the Emerging Leaders Program, a unique opportunity for primary care providers who serve children.

This 6-month program offers:

  • Interdisciplinary mentorship with EHDI experts.
  • Training on collaboration within the EHDI system.
  • A $1,500 stipend to support your participation.
  • Recognition through a certificate and official acknowledgment from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Participants will engage in virtual sessions, mentorship opportunities, and networking experiences while contributing to the development of a provider training curriculum designed to enhance EHDI systems nationwide.

By the end of the program, participants will:

  • Identify EHDI system partners and their roles within the state/territory EHDI system.
  • Describe at least 2 strategies to partner with EHDI system entities, including early intervention services and family organizations.
  • Understand their role in early identification, diagnosis, and service provision for D/HH children and families.
  • Develop leadership skills to effectively engage and collaborate within the EHDI system.
  • Contribute to the development of an Emerging Leaders curriculum for EHDI provider education.

Who Should Apply?
Primary care providers—including pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners, or other advanced practice providers—who care for children in rural or underserved communities are encouraged to apply. Diverse applicants are strongly welcomed!
