Screenshot of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) website on a laptop.The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is offering up to $485,000 in cash prizes to US-based community organizations through the “Community Champions for Disability Health Challenge.” Led by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), this initiative aims to reduce health disparities experienced by people with disabilities by supporting innovative, community-driven programs.

Eligible organizations are encouraged to submit proposals by November 1, 2024. Up to eight selected organizations will receive $25,000 to advance to the next phase, where they will implement and enhance their programs over the course of a year. Participants will also receive mentorship from NIH and NIDILRR experts with the opportunity to win additional funding and grand prizes of $75,000.
