Credit: Project ECHOThe WA INCLUDE team at the Institute on Human Development and Disability (IHDD) has recently published a paper titled ‘“Nothing About Us Without Us” Meets the “All Teach, All Learn” Model: Autistic Self-Advocates as Leaders and Collaborators in Project ECHO.’ This publication highlights the significant contributions of autistic self-advocates within the Autism ECHO Programs.

Published in Education Sciences, this paper explores the essential role of self-advocates in improving our programs and their involvement in developing more inclusive educational practices. The work illustrates how these advocates have taken on leadership roles and collaborated as equal partners, showcasing their impact on the effectiveness of these programs.

As part of the Special Issue on Advances in Inclusive Autism Research and Practice, this publication underscores the importance of collaboration with those who have lived experience. The insights and efforts of the authors and the ECHO team are central to advancing this work.
