Dr. Bateman’s project is focused on supporting parents and caregivers of children with disabilities. By using the Project ECHO model, which is typically applied in medical settings, this initiative aims to help families manage challenging behaviors at home. As Dr. Bateman explains:

“This parent education series will provide parents and caregivers with education from a multidisciplinary team to prevent and respond to challenging behavior, seeking to increase competence and confidence, as well as increase meaningful social connections.”

This project is about providing practical support to families, helping them build the skills and connections they need. The RRF grant will allow Dr. Bateman to gather important data on how this approach impacts families’ daily lives.

We congratulate Dr. Bateman on receiving this grant and look forward to the progress of her work.
