Home / Participate in Research IHDD / Hearing in Noisy Environments: Seeking Children Who Wear Hearing Aids

Photo: Young girl with her eyes closed wearing over the ears headphones. Children need to hear in noisy environments such as classrooms and playgrounds to acquire language and learn. We are studying how the brain helps infants and children hear under these noisy conditions when many people are talking at the same time and under what conditions it gets difficult.

Eligibility:

  • They are between 0 and 18 years old.
  • They wear hearing aids.

What would happen if you took part in the study?

  • Your child could choose to come into the lab for an EEG recording and listening tasks.
  • Your child would receive a $15 Tango gift card per hour of participation plus parking reimbursement.
  • We have trained research staff with age-appropriate toys for young children!
