The collaboration between the UW Haring Center and the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OPSI) aims to inspire educators statewide to adopt inclusive practices, creating a more supportive learning environment for all.

Sehome High School exemplifies this vision, embracing co-teaching and innovative scheduling to provide grade-level content to nearly all freshmen, fostering improved academic performance and social skills. Toppenish Middle School is another exemplary school in the Inclusionary Practices Project, firmly believing in fully integrating every student, regardless of disability or learning differences, into academic and social experiences.

The Haring Center’s work showcases the impact of inclusive education, empowering educators to implement similar approaches in their classrooms and create environments where every student can thrive.
