April 3, 2023 – The University of Washington (UW) Institute on Human Development and Disability is pleased to announce its first annual Research Day, to be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023. This event marks an exciting milestone for the center, as it has recently been upgraded from the Center on Human Development and Disability (CHDD) to the Institute on Human Development and Disability (IHDD).
The IHDD is a nationally recognized research center focused on improving the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families through research, education, and service. The center’s research spans a wide range of topics, from early childhood development to intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The first annual Research Day will showcase the IHDD’s research and highlight its collaborations with other departments and organizations at the UW and beyond. The event will feature presentations by IHDD researchers and community partners, poster sessions highlighting the center’s ongoing research projects, and a keynote address by Dr. Michael Guralnick on “Future Directions for Early Childhood Interventions.”
“We are thrilled to host our first annual Research Day as the newly upgraded Institute on Human Development and Disability,” said Dr. Sandra Juul, Director of the UW IHDD. “This event is an opportunity to showcase the important work being done by our researchers and community partners, and to celebrate the IHDD’s commitment to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families.”
The IHDD’s research day will also feature networking opportunities for attendees, providing a platform for researchers, students, and community partners to share their work and build connections with others in the field.
The IHDD’s first annual Research Day will be held in-person at the UW campus. More information, including the full schedule and registration details, can be found here.
